About the event
In our work with children and youth we can easily be overwhelmed by the increasing needs around us - children who are troubled, have troubles, have troubling thoughts or emotions, cause trouble, or who find themselves in troubling times and situations. At times it can be hard to make sense of what is happening and what is needed to make a lasting difference for these kids - often feeling a lack of hope in the midst of it all. This course will look through the lens of fresh insights regarding emotion and the brain to make sense of where these "troubles" might be coming from
We will explore issues such as:
Anxiety, aggression, fixations and compulsions, boredom, attention issues, defiance, and bossiness
Our focus will then go into what we can do to offer these young ones, their parents, and their teachers some hope for healthy maturation and development.
